Instant Noodles

Instant Noodles - VERY SERIOUS STUFF!
Food for thought !

Please note that our Institute Jantung Negara (national Heart Institution) has recommended Malaysians not to over eat instant noodles as heart disease is mainly caused by the seasoning powder. If you can't do without it, reduce the powder by half and don't drink the soup after you finish the noodle.

CORRECT WAYOF COOKING NOODLES'
The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and health:

Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat. This is theWRONG method of cooking the instant noodles. By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structure of the MSG, causing it to be toxic.

The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles arecoated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have eaten the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD: 1. Boil the noodles in a pot of water.

2. Once the noodles are cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax.

3. Boil another pot of water, add the cooked noodles into the hot boiling water and then turn off the stove.

4. Only at this stage when the stove is off, and while the water is very hot, add the flavouring powder into the water, to make noodle soup.

5. However, if you need dry noodles, remove the noodles and add the flavouring powder and toss it to get dry noodles.
Dietician's Note:

If you buy plain hakka noodles which you make, you initially need to boil in water and discard the water. This will soften the noodles but to prevent it from sticking we need to add a tbsp of oil and also the noodles are deep fried partially to make them crunchy and then dusted with flour to prevent them from sticking while boiling. Hence when you buy the noodles they are already made unhealthy and this is the type we use to make stir fry noodles and the regular Maggi too is made the same way, plus they add MSG / Ajinomoto and other chemical preservatives.
A large number of patients with ages ranging from 18-24  years are ending up with pancreatitis either as  a swelling or infection of the pancreas - I AM SURE ABOUT THIS COMMENT THOUGH !

due to regular consumption of instant noodles...

If the frequency is more than 3 times a week, then it is very hazardous...
Please share this info and help save a life

All About GHEE

 Pure Ghee
- Facts & Cooking

All About GHEE
CLARIFIED BUTTER

 http://www.mypicshares.com/picdump.php?id=1143&sid=1c92a88d33991aeb4f7310bbde807bcb

Fact: Ghee is composed almost entirely of saturated fat. What you're already shaking your head with disgust?? Just read on and have patience. Remember a good cook must have a lot of patience.

Fact:
When cooking, it can be unhealthy to heat polyunsaturated oils such as vegetable oils to high temperatures. Doing so creates peroxides and other free radicals. These substances lead to a variety of health problems and diseases. Hey now even vegetable oils sound scary! Good we're making progress here.

Fact:
Ghee has a very high smoke point and doesn't burn easily during cooking. Ghee has the more stable saturated bonds and so is lot less likely to form the dangerous free radicals when cooking. Ghee's short chain fatty acids are also metabolized very readily by the body. Hmm... So now aren't you confused? Is ghee good or bad you ask with a puzzled look? Be patient, just a bit more.

Lab studies have shown ghee to reduce cholesterol both in the serum and intestine(aren't you surprised?!). It does it by triggering an increased secretion of biliary lipids (stuff coming out of your bile). Ghee is also good for nerves and brain. It helps control eye pressure and is beneficial to glaucoma patients. I bet you didn't know these, did you?

Ghee is most notably said to stimulate the secretion of stomach acids to help with digestion, while other fats, such as butter and oils, slow down the digestive process and can sit heavy in the stomach. You don't want that really.

In addition to ghee's nutritional value, it is rich with antioxidants and acts as an aid in the absorption of vitamins and minerals from other foods, feeding all layers of body tissue and serving to strengthen the immune system. A high concentration of butyric acid, a fatty acid that contains anti-viral properties, is believed to inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors.
It is also good for treatment of burns and blisters; a little kitchen remedy there for y'all. According to Ayurveda ghee promotes learning and increased memory retention. Make sure you remember that. And it'll help you remember if you had some ghee!

However, as a caveat, while in a healthy person consuming ghee may reduce your cholesterol or not affect it, it not advised for people already suffering from high cholesterol.

So should you eat Ghee or not???

If you're healthy, ABSOLUTELY. It is safer than butter and has more nutritional use than oil.
Now you understand how the Punjabi’s have tonnes of ghee and still are fitter and stronger than any other group of Indians? Go get some ghee you weakling.
A high concentration of butyric acid, a fatty acid that contains anti-viral properties, is believed to inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors.

Although tests and research are still ongoing, it has been used in Indian medicinal practice to help with ulcers, constipation, and the promotion of healthy eyes and skin. An Indian folk-remedy for thousands of years, ghee is also said to promote learning and increased memory retention. It is used in Indian beauty creams to help soften skin, and as a topical for the treatment of burns and blisters.

Pass the BUTTER PLEASE

A health note

Having Worked at Unilevers Premier Margarine Factory in the UK for 1 Year, as a Management Trainee, and then in Sri Lanka Managing Margarine Manufacture, I can safely admit that what you are about to read is true !!

Pass The Butter ... Please

This is interesting
 . .. .

Margarine
was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.

It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavourings....

DO YOU KNOW..
The difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams;compared to 5 grams for margarine.

Eating
margarine can increase heart disease in women by  53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating
butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits wheremargarine has a few and only because they are added!

Butter
tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods.

Butter
has been around for centuries wheremargarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..

Very High in Trans
fatty acids

Triples risk of coronary
heart disease ...

Increases total cholesterol
and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five times..

Lowers quality of
breast milk

Decreases immune response.

Decreases
insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine
is but ONE MOLECULE away from beingPLASTIC... and shares 27 ingredients withPAINT.

These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

Open a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it.  Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow.

Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to butter them up')!

Chinese Proverb:

When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.

Pass the BUTTER PLEASE
 CHEERS !!!

VERY IMPORTANT.....

REAL INCIDENT.... READ N PASS..

VERY IMPORTANT......

This is a real incident that happened in a local
 hospital in Bangalore, India

A 4 year old girl was admitted due to leg fracture. As it was an open fracture, she had to undergo an operation

to stitch the protruding bone back in place. Though it was quite a minor operation, she was hooked on to life support system, as a part of the process.

The doctors had to input some data prior to the operation to suit different conditions. Thereafter, the operation proceeded. Half way through the process, the life support system suddenly went dead.

The culprit : -

Some one was using his/her hand-phone outside the operation
theatre.. And the frequency had affected the system.. Theytried to track the person, but to no avail.
The little girl,
young and innocent as she was, died soon after.

Be compassionate! Do not use your hand phone/mobiles
especially at any hospitals or within the Aircraft or any places where you are told not to use it... You might not
be
caught in the act, but you might have killed someone without knowledge.

Please pass this to as many, since most of us are just not
aware of the seriousness of this issue.

Last Word:

Please avoid using your mobile phones in hospitals, near OT areas / petrol pumps / aircraft etc ... wherever it is mentioned no use of mobiles, go by the rules, it's a matter of life & death.

THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW YOUR CELL PHONE COULD DO

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.

Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an  emergency tool for
survival. Check out the things that you can do with it: -

(1 )

EMERGENCY

The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is 112..* If you find
yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an
emergency, dial
112 and the mobile will search any existing network to
establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.
**Try it out.**

(2)

Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote keys?

This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call
someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a   foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock.

Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note:
*It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a cell phone!'*

(3)

Hidden Battery power

Imagine your cell battery is very low , you are expecting an important call
and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve
battery.
To activate, press the keys
*3370# Your cell will restart with
this reserve and the instrument will show a
50% increase in battery. This
reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.
